How copyright owners may submit a notice, how notices are reviewed, and how eligible counter-notifications may be submitted.

Effective Date: August 2026

After the Receipts respects the intellectual property rights of others. This page explains how copyright owners may submit a notice concerning material on this site and, where applicable, how a person may respond if material is removed or disabled.

About This Site

All video content, document overlays, and commentary hosted on this site consist of educational, commentary, news reporting, and public-record document analysis, protected under 17 U.S.C. § 107 (Fair Use) and public interest principles. Content is presented for purposes that may include commentary, criticism, education, and news reporting on matters of legitimate public interest.

This site is not affiliated with, operated by, or endorsed by any plaintiff, defendant, witness, attorney, court, or other person or entity referenced in the legal proceedings discussed in its content.

Submitting a Copyright Notice

If you believe material on this site infringes a copyright you own or are authorized to enforce, submit a written notice to the copyright contact listed below.

Copyright Contact

Your notice should include the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), including: (1) a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or an authorized representative; (2) identification of the copyrighted work; (3) identification and location of the material claimed to be infringing; (4) your contact information; (5) a good-faith statement that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and (6) a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act.

Notices that do not substantially comply with these requirements may be delayed, declined, or returned for additional information.

Good-Faith Review

Each copyright notice is reviewed individually. Submission of a notice does not automatically result in removal or disabling of material. After the Receipts may request clarification or additional information and may decline notices that do not substantially comply with applicable legal requirements.

Important Notice Regarding Misrepresentation — 17 U.S.C. § 512(f)

Please read before submitting a notice:

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be subject to severe statutory liability, including money damages, court costs, and attorney's fees incurred by the site operator or service provider as a result of that misrepresentation.

Because this site contains commentary, criticism, and reporting regarding matters of public record, some uses may be protected by applicable law. A person submitting a notice should carefully consider whether the challenged use is authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

Counter-Notification

If material you posted was removed or disabled in response to a notice and you believe the action resulted from mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written counter-notification that complies with 17 U.S.C. § 512(g).

A counter-notification should include your physical or electronic signature; identification of the removed material and its prior location; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification; your name, address, and telephone number; consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate federal district court; and a statement that you will accept service of process from the original complainant or that person's agent.

Where the statutory process applies, material may be restored not fewer than 10 and not more than 14 business days after receipt of a valid counter-notification unless notice is received that the complainant has filed a court action seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity.

Repeat Infringer Policy

After the Receipts reserves the right, where appropriate and consistent with applicable law, to remove or disable access to material alleged to infringe copyright and to restrict or terminate access for repeat infringers.

Privacy & Redaction of Court Documents

Where excerpts of public court records are displayed, After the Receipts endeavors to redact sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, financial account numbers, private telephone numbers, residential addresses, and other information that is not relevant to the public issues being discussed.
